8 People + 1 Bottle of Wine + 18 Beers + Only 4 Mics = Our best podcast to date.

That’s right! We have started a great collaboration with Deb Zeller and Playing in Fog to create the first ever Playing in Fog/Bay Bridged Podcast (we’ll call it a PiFcast for short). This PiFcast showcases the Playing in Fog Presents show featuring Ex-Boyfriends, Music for Animals, and Sholi on July 5th at Cafe Du Nord.

We sat down with Deb Zeller, Jay and Ryan from Music For Animals, and Colin, Chris, and Peter from Ex-Boyfriends at the bay bridged headquarters. We had some drinks and had a great conversation about Bananarama, Craigslist, the SF Music Scene, and touring. We have interlaced this great interview with music from all three bands so that you get a preview for this great show coming up next week!

Also, to celebrate this new endeavor, we have created the very first Bay Bridged Contest. Click the link below and enter yourself in a raffle for 2 FREE TICKETS to this show! The winner will be told via E-mail on July 3rd, so get those entries sent in! Thanks to Deb Zeller and Cafe Du Nord for making this possible!

Enter the Bay Bridged Contest!

Congrats to our winner: Richard P.!

Happy National Safety Month!

In case you didn’t know, it is the month to be and learn to be safe. According to their website, this week focuses on Emergency Preparedness. So while you’re listening to the amazing bands we’ve got featured this week (and given the tremor we had last week), you might as well make an earthquake survival kit! Here are some easy to follow instructions. You can never be too prepared.

Now that the public service announcement has been made, here is the list of great bands you’ll find on this week’s show:

Anaura
Brookhaven
Empty Rooms
Fake French
Finest Dearest
The Lonelyhearts
The Love X Nowhere
Subimage

Click on any of the links above for more information on any of the bands we featured.

Alright, that’s all for this week! For next week’s show we have a HUGE surprise for everyone. Ben and I have started a new partnership with a great local music supporter and will be thrilled to unveil it next week for our 19th show. I don’t want to say too much, but in this episode we will also be attempting to conduct the biggest interview we’ve had yet - literally.

Salutations!

This week we feature San Francisco based, Empty Rooms, on our show. We met up with Chris, Eric, and Garritt over at Giorgio’s Pizzeria in the Richmond and discussed their EP, a very unique song numbering system, and a variety of other things. Also - a first for us over here at the bay bridged (and hopefully not the last) - we recorded Empty Rooms’ live show over at the Hemlock Tavern last Friday where they shared the stage with Elephone and Finest Dearest. We have included one of the songs in this episode to share with you all!

This was a great interview and a fun show for us to make. The only thing we regret was not being able to meet up with Andy, their bassist/vocalist, due to a recent accident. We are, however, happy to report that he looked and sounded great at their show and we wish him a very speedy recovery. Be sure to check their website for updates on future shows they’ll be playing at in the Bay Area!

Also, if you haven’t noticed, we have a brand new look for the website! We spent some long and hard hours the last few weeks debating about where we wanted to go with the site given the success we’ve had so far in this crazy endeavor of ours. We think it turned out great and hope you do to. We also have some amazing things planned for later this summer that Ben and I can’t wait to share with you all. So stay tuned!

Have a great week!

Note: It appears we are having some issues with iTunes subscriptions switching over to our new feed after the website move. We are hoping this will be resolved shortly. If you wish to fix this immediately, all you have to do is delete your original subscription and resubscribe in iTunes. We will let you know when this has been resolved. Thanks!

Episode 16: Pidgeon

To start off June and the summer we decided to feature Pidgeon (not Pigeon!) - an awesome Pop/Rock/Punk/Scream act from San Francisco. These guys mix a whole range of sounds with very unique and rather deep lyrics to create some good ol’ fashioned fist-raising, heart pounding rock music.

Ben and I had a blast interviewing these guys over at the bay bridged headquarters. We discussed their current album - From Gutter With Love, a bit about their upcoming album, and even discussed what it was like having a song of theirs played on TVs Gilmore Girls.

So check out the show, go buy their album over at Absolutely Kosher, and check them out live! For more information on Pidgeon check out their website!
