Episode 23: The Lonelyhearts
July 25, 2006

This week we sat down with John and Andre from The Lonelyhearts, a duo from San Francisco (with a hint of Iowa City during the school year), over at Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub in the Mission. We first heard of these guys while making our Mission Creek Festival Shows and liked their music so much, we had to have them on the show.
John and Andre had some very interesting things to say about their album, making music both together and 2000 miles apart, and also let us know about some great local bands we should get to know! Check out The Lonelyhearts at one of their upcoming shows before they’re gone till next summer!

Episode 22: July’s Monthly Local Mix
July 17, 2006

Did you know? July was renamed for Julius Caesar, who was born in that month. Previously, it was called Quintilis in Latin, since it was the fifth month in the Roman calendar which started in March. Because of its origin, until the 18th century this month’s name was pronounced the same way as the name “Julie”. Thank you Wikipedia!
Alright, on to the Monthly Mix! This time we’ve included eight local bands that have yet to be featured on our show. We feel each of these bands brings something fresh and unique to the bay area sound and wanted to share them with you. All of the bands are actively playing throughout the bay area, so check out our NEW Local Concert Calendar to find out if they’re playing at a venue near you!
Also, if you hear something you like on the show, be sure to check out their websites for more info or to purchase a CD! Each of the bands sites can be found by clicking their names below:
LoveLikeFire
LSD and the Search for God
Mandrake
Send for Help
Serene Lakes
The F*cking Ocean
Thee More Shallows

If you’re in a band and interested on being on one of our feature shows, send your music to us! More information can be found by clicking the ‘Get Heard‘ button above.
Thanks for listening and we’ll see you next week with a new feature show!
Episode 21: Brookhaven
July 11, 2006

Hey guys and gals! The World Cup is over, so now what? How about another great local band coming at you like a headbutt to the chest!
This week we feature Brookhaven, a 3 piece electronic rock/instrumental band from Oakland. We sat down with Sonny, Michael, and Bret over at the bay bridged headquarters to talk about their new material that they’re working on.
For more information about the band, head to their myspace site or over to their record label, Expel Records!
They don’t have any upcoming shows due to their work on the new album, but you can find out when they’re playing in the future, as you can with all other bands we have featured, by using our BRAND NEW LOCAL CONCERT CALENDAR! That’s right, we’ve created a Bay Bridged exclusive local calendar where you can find out when and where bands we have showcased will be playing! So check it out!
Stay tuned for even more great surprises from us over here in the near future. We’ve got some great stuff cookin’!
Episode 20: The Drogues
July 4, 2006

We’ve made it to our 20th episode! We’re celebrating this achievement with a feature show on The Drogues, a punk rock three-piece from San Francisco. We sat down with Mark, Ray, and Kevin over at the Edinburgh Castle a few weeks ago during, what turned out to be, Quiz Night. Luckily the Castle was nice enough to let us record in their empty venue to avoid the yelling of odd pop culture trivia questions throughout our interview.
Check out the show and be sure to check The Drogues at their next show:
Thursday, July 20th @ The Hemlock Tavern
9pm with Painted Bird and Sky Pilots
Also, if you want to grab their album, check out their myspace page! $10 and shipping is included? What a Steal!
Lastly, don’t forget about the Playing in Fog Presents show featuring Ex-Boyfriends, Music for Animals, and Sholi THIS WEDNESDAY (7/5) at Cafe Du Nord!
Have a great week!
