Hello again!

Although the Bay Bridge was partially closed this weekend, The Bay Bridged remains open for business and busier than ever! This week we’ve caught up with the guys from San Francisco rock-pop band Anaura at their rehearsal space in SoMa. We chatted with Alex, Josh, Dean and Thad about their influences (and the bands they’ve been compared to), their fun live show, and their slow but rewarding songwriting process. Plus, as a special treat, we’ve included a song we recorded live at their July 15th show at Bottom of the Hill with Bay Bridged alumni Birdmonster and Triple Cobra!

To find out more about Anaura, click here for their official site and here for their Myspace page. You can pick up both of their albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up if we get away with this, from CD Baby (here and here) and on iTunes here.

The guys have a bunch of shows coming up in the Bay Area:

Saturday, September 9th
Blake’s
9:00pm with The Wedding Crashers, Aphasia and Solomon

Saturday, September 16th
Hotel Utah
9:00pm with Fits and Starts and Bento

Thursday, October 26th
Make-Out Room
9:00pm

Speaking of great shows at the Make-Out Room, we’d like to give one final plug for our benefit show tomorrow, September 6th, featuring The Invisible Cities, 20 Minute Loop and Tomihira. It will be a great night of music for a great cause! Also, don’t forget to check out our online auction–only a few days left to get some great stuff!

Have a good one! See you at the Make-Out Room!

Great interview. Nice to hear the references to swedish bands and metal. I think you guys sound like Elliott Smith mixed with Queens of the Stone Age.

Saw you guys open at bottom of the hill. Very cool. The best band of the night, in my ‘go for honesty’ opinion. Talked to Josh and Dean and they were super real. Try to come out to your next show.
