Birdmonster Shows With Superdrag, New Album Looms
May 28, 2008

Birdmonster is busy preparing for the release of their new album From the Mountain to the Sea, which comes out Aug. 5. In the meantime, they have released two great new songs on their MySpace page and will play two nights at Bottom of the Hill this Sunday and Monday, June 1 and 2, with Superdrag.
The new songs have a more polished feel than from their previous album No Midnight, both in musical execution and recording quality. The two new songs also reflect a slightly lighter side of the Birdmonster we know, revealing a depth and complexity that was just under the surface before. Check out the new songs on the band’s MySpace page.
The band has also been updating their blog with great posts recently, the latest of which is a hilarious tutorial on “how to choose an album cover.” As the album release gets closer, the blog is sure to have lots more good info about what the band is up to.
For now, check out one of the shows Sunday or Monday at BOTH. Sunday’s show adds Truxton to the bill, and Monday’s show adds Cold Hot Crash. They both start at 9pm and cost $17 in advance, $20 at the door.
