Rogue Wave to Play YBCA Artists Ball Seven

Local favorites Rogue Wave have been selected to play this year’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Artists Ball this Friday, Oct. 3. This $150-a-pop event will also feature Hercules & Love Affair (Brooklyn) and Mos Def (Brooklyn), and will benefit the YBCA’s Fund for New Work.
Hardly limited to the Bay Area scene anymore (though we still covet them), Rogue Wave has had music featured in The OC, Heroes and Weeds. Their latest album is Asleep at Heaven’s Gate, released a year ago on Brushfire Records.
With a snarky theme of American politics (complete with drag queens adorned in red, white and blue…and other quintessential American things), Rogue Wave will provide an appropriately dark-yet-somehow-optimistic soundtrack.
Tickets are $150 each, or $125 for YBCA members. Dinner is at 6pm and the dance party starts at 9pm. Admission gets you access to an open bar and plenty of hors d’ouevres. Not to mention it’s for a great cause.
