Man/Miracle, Pancho Sanza (Rogue Wave), Caleb Nichols (ex-Port O’Brien) @ Hotel Utah

October 16, 2008

Man/Miracle (Feature Podcast) headline a quality show tonight at the Hotel Utah. The band’s been touring quite a bit lately, and their debut 7″ single is good stuff on both the A and B sides. Take a listen to “Pushing and Shoving” below:

Pushing And Shoving – Man/Miracle

If you don’t recognize some of the other names on the bill, you’ll definitely know some of the projects with which they’ve been associated. Pancho Sanza is the alter ego of Rogue Wave bass player Patrick Abernethy. When that band’s got some down time, Abernethy indulges “a penchant for the harmonies and understated rhythms of early Brit folk.” Also performing is Caleb Nichols, who used to be a member of Port O’Brien (and was in the band when we interviewed them). Nichols’ MySpace page sees him mining some dusty-but-catchy folk-rock territory. His album Some Ghosts is out now on Little Skreta.

Tonight’s show is at 9pm, is $8 and is 21+.
