Modern Times Fundraiser Sunday at Hemlock

This Sunday there will be a great fundraiser for a San Francisco landmark, Modern Times Bookstore. The show will feature four awesome local acts – Top Critters, Must I Lose a Limb, Reptiel (ex-Thee More Shallows), Parker Frost – for an early (6pm) show at Hemlock Tavern.
Modern Times’ website details the struggles of great local bookstores:
“As you may know, these are perilous times for independent bookstores. During the past summer, two landmark Bay Area bookstores closed. Each of these stores had suffered sharp declines in sales over the past five years. Although Modern Times has experienced a similar decline, we have no intention of letting our doors close!”
This is a really fun way to support a local business, but if you can’t make it, consider contributing in other ways. The show starts at 6pm, and the cost is pretty much up to you – be generous if you can!
