Magic Bullets – “The Book Is Closed” (from Lives for Romance)
Fans of a CHILD but in life yet a DOCTOR in love rejoice! Magic Bullets (Feature Podcast) are back with a new self-released 12″/digital EP featuring four great songs. With Lives for Romance, the band has smoothed some of its post-punkier edges, creating some swooning pop that ideally compliments charismatic singer Phil Benson’s tales of high melodrama. The result is very compelling, which is to be expected from one of the Bay’s best indie pop groups.
Magic Bullets celebrate the new EP with a release party this Friday at Bottom of the Hill. They’re playing with The Passionistas (Feature Podcast), Airfix Kits, which features former members of Giant Haystacks, and DJ Primo. 10pm, $10, All Ages.
