Wendy Darling, Dizzy Balloon This Saturday in Oakland

January 1, 2009

Starting off with a piece of exciting news: San Diego band Wendy Darling has officially relocated to the Bay Area! Their full-length Half-Told Bedtime Stories was released this year and is a fantastic blend of folk, rock and electronic, topped off with Cori Rush’s amazingly smooth vocals. We look forward to hearing more from this great band.

Dizzy Balloon – “Raise a Glass”

To start them off, they’ll be playing a show this Saturday at the Oakland Metro Operahouse. They’ll be joined by Dizzy Balloon, who were this year’s Live 105 pick for opening their Not So Silent Night show. The night will also feature Maldroid, The Frail and our favorite string metal band Judgement Day, who will just be finishing off a tour. It’s an incredible local line-up for Oakland’s first all-ages show in a good while. 8pm, $10.
