Buttercream Gang, The Globes, Don’t Tell Sophie, Moller @ Thee Parkside tonight

Tonight at Thee Parkside, an evening celebrating the jovial rock and electronic sounds of the Bay Area (The Buttercream Gang, Moller) and the Northwest (The Globes, Don’t Tell Sophie) (9pm, $6).

The Buttercream Gang has too much fun, it’s just something you can tell by the mere fact that no one in the band stays on an instrument for very long. Saxophone, providing additional percussion, perhaps playing a number of available synthesizers — there is just too much going on to stay glued on one thing — or to stick with one style of music, even.

Watch these goofballs in their video for “I Know ‘Bout You.” Delving into the tribal electronic empire established by Animal Collective, the track is an undeniable hit.
