Upset the Rhythm @ the Lab

The bands playing at the Upset the Rhythm showcase on Sunday will be sure to do exactly that as The Lab hosts a sizable bill chock full of local and LA-based experimental groups. From self-described drum and shout group Foot Village to the surreal soundscapes of Lucky Dragons to the stark and sometimes creepy vibe of Gowns, the two things these bands all have in common is an uncommon approach to music-making and a UK based record label.

Death Sentence: Panda! – “A+ Cannibal”
Death Sentence: Panda! will be rounding out the aggressive side of things by bringing a feedback-heavy riot grrrl vibe to the table while Former Ghosts (featuring members of Xiu Xiu, This Song Is A Mess But So Am I, and Zola Jesus) contribute their poppy, robot-in-love sound.
Showcase starts at 6 pm. $8. All Ages. Co-presented by KFJC and Club Sandwich.
