Petracovich – “Heaven Help the Day”

Crepusculo is the brand new third album from Petracovich, the musical identity of Santa Rosa’s Jessica Peters. Like Peters’ other works, the album is guided by strong vocals and moving lyrics layered atop lush musical textures, but there’s a notable shift in emphases from electronic textures toward more organic sound. The new collection is also inescapably personal since it was written and recorded while Jessica was pregnant with her son Otto Charles. Jessica’s son tragically passed away eight days after he was born and Crepusculo was put aside for a year. Now seeing release, it’s an inspiring and emotionally powerful CD.

Petracovich celebrates the new CD’s release at Amnesia this Thursday, August 13th. Jessica and her band will be opening for fellow local singer-songwriters Jesse DeNatale and Indianna Hale. 9pm, $8.

I’m really excited about this show!! I was at the LA show this week and it was incredible. Check out a review of the performance at:

And with Indiana Hale & Jesse DeNatale its going to be and incredible night.

Also Petracovich will be performing live on KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic on Sept. 9th. Crazy! Very cool!!

And they’ve been getting great press. This is what the Portland Mercury said when they passed through last week:

“Don’t overlook the marvelous piano pop of Santa Rosa, California’s Petracovich. Led by the sparkling songwriting and voice of Jessica Peters, Crepusculo (which was recorded in Portland) is absolutely wonderful, each song a delicate delight. Peters infuses every song with both power and pulsating beauty; she was pregnant while she recorded Crepusculo, and the expectant joy is evident in every note.”
