The Dodos kick off OSL @ the Rickshaw Wednesday

August 25, 2009

…Did you hear that?….

Yes, that was the collective sigh of relief as Bay Area indie fans realized The Dodos are almost back in town after the long time they spent recording their new album, Time to Die (frenchkiss) up in the Northwest, and touring briefly through Europe.

Kicking off their triumphant return is an appearance at the Rickshaw Stop Wednesday night (8:30pm, $10) with Spencey Dude and the Doodles (SF). The gig is part of the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival night shows, highlighting some of the weekend’s acts in more intimate settings.

Unfortunately, the show is already sold out; however, they will be releasing tickets at the box office day of, [Update: this is an unconfirmed rumor] so those those willing to wait in line still have a shot at getting in. If not, catch em’ day one (Friday) at Outside Lands proper. In the meantime, here’s a video of The Dodos performing “Fools” last Friday up in Seattle with new member Keaton Snyder rockin’ the Xylophone:

    The show’s actually on Wednesday, not Thursday…so if you line up at the Rickshaw on Thursday, you might be out of luck…

    @rn I dunno, I’ll take my chances.

    We meant you should have started lining up last Thursday. [We didn't, but you probably should have.] Apologies for the error!

    You should leave it as Thursday so I have a better chance of getting tickets myself!

    YAY! SO excited for the show! (PS If you miss them tomorrow, check their website – they’re playing for free in SF in a couple of weeks)

    Please note our latest update: our understanding is that tickets will not be sold at the door.
