Are you going to Outside Lands?

I’d assume that it’s not news that Outside Lands is this weekend. We’ll have folks there covering the festival, but I’m curious if you, the loyal Bay Bridged reader, will be going. If so, what are you excited about seeing? If not, why aren’t you going?

Update: Just announced this morning that YouTube will be live-streaming the festival, so even if you aren’t going, you can still check out some of the performances.
not going. why? $300 to see this? i can spend much less money and my weekend seeing something a hell of a lot less bland at a vanilla ice cream factory.
I considered it – but I’m generally not a big fan of huge music shows. There’s only a handful of bands that I really want to see, and I could see them all individually in much more intimate settings for much less money. That being said, I’ll catch a few acts on youtube.

Why go see a bunch of bands that have nothing to do with the bay area? Where are the local acts? There are a few but not enough. It’s a crime that local artists aren’t better represented. This is a chance to gain more exposure in one day than they could get in a year of playing clubs and maybe get a local following going. So no, i’m not going and neither should you.
