Media Friday: JV becomes Eclectic, Girls get Fadered, and new Thao and il gato

September 18, 2009

Fridays are for zoning out at work with some quality web-surfing, no? So let’s lasso in all the good media we’ve unearthed this week.

Above, John Vanderslice recently did a session with KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic”.

And we have a Girls appearance on FADER TV, in celebration of Album, officially out next week:

New tunes for your downloading pleasure include a fresh track from Thao and the Get Down Stay Down. It’s the title track off the band’s upcoming Know Better Learn Faster, out in October and available for pre-order now.

Finally, local folk-rock band il gato have been working on a new album. Here’s a preview that makes us want to hear more:

il gato has great song here. On Feathers and Arrows (on Burnt Pine) is to me a very clever lyrical journey, accompanied with really cool music. I love the way it is put together. I am very excited to experience the album in it,s entirety!
