My friend and I got there at the beginning of the day and went straight to the front of the bridge stage. We stayed there all day just so we could be in front during MGMT. We saw The Limousines, Murs, Passion Pit, The Streets, Brazilian Girls, MSTRKRFT, and MGMT. We actually went there not knowing any of the bands, except MGMT, but now we listen to all of the bands we saw. The whole day was so much fun. Murs sang to me, and my friend got pulled up on stage to dance with The Brazilian Girls. I wish we had gone on the feris wheel but we spent our money on $15 Treasure Island Canteens that we ended up loosing by the end of the night. Saturday, September 17, 2009 was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. I am definitely going to go again next year (: I went to the Treasure Island Music festival on the first day. Greg Gillis kills it up there. You try mixing up 100 different bits of 100 different songs together to make one then rock a crowd like he did. LTJ was good for the first five minutes and then you realize that he is playing the same hardcore british base and having his hype man say "you want one more" only to have him hit you with the same beat and bullshit lyrics. After Girl Talk I could not even get hyped up for MGMT (a band I like) because nothing could match the energy seen in the crowd onstage, or felt in the crowd that Girl Talk produced. You skipped over DJ Krush and LTJ Bukem and those two guys CREATED the stuff that mstrkrft and girl talk rip off. Show a little respect people! Plus did you see how Krush actually did his set 'live.'
