Chuck Prophet – “¡Let Freedom Ring!”
Local guitar-slinging institution Chuck Prophet releases his latest solo album ¡Let Freedom Ring! today on Yep Roc. The album was crafted in Mexico City during swine flu mania earlier this year. As he says in the video below, Chuck was searching for an adventure (“Harry Potter for the chemically imbalanced”), and found it in a 50s-era recording studio. Prophet channeled Mexico City’s energy through a two guitars/bass/drums set-up, and you can hear the results in the title track above.
