A plethora of Halloween shows

October 28, 2009

It feels like there are a ton of great Halloween live music options this year. Here are a few of the highlights:

- LoveLikeFire and Loquat at Bottom of the Hill. Two quality indie pop bands and a bunch of DJs add up to a good night.

- Looking for covers? Most of Citay will be at Amnesia, performing as “Bob Saggath”. Unclear if there will be Full House-related costumes, but there will be Sabbath covers.

- The always-reliable Wallpaper. plays at the Mezzanine. “Holla-Ween” also includes a $1,000 dollar costume contest.

- In contrast, there’s a $10 costume contest at The Stork Club. Nobunny and Shannon and the Clams headline the show.

The night before Halloween, options include:

- At the Hotel Utah, The Old-Fashioned Way are performing the original soundtrack to Xanadu.

- At the Ghost Town Gallery in Oakland, you can catch Pizza! (LA), Religious Girls, Grand Lake, Pierre le Robot and Maus Haus.

Thanks for the plug, Bay Bridged. The Loquat, LoveLikeFire, and Fallout vs. Life/Style show this Saturday will also have a costume contest (prizes TBA), and there will be a drink special (involving dry ice, no less) for anyone in costume!
