Winfred E. Eye will be playing Bottom of the Hill Wednesday (9pm, $12) along with ambient post-rock out of San Diego: Tristeza and Drew Andrews, both of which involve musicians associated with the widely known instrumental project The Album Leaf.

Tristeza is on tour in support of the album that took them out of a three-year lull, Fate Upholds – their second on Better Looking Records. This album delivers more of their notorious dynamic songwriting, akin to the sounds of Explosions in the Sky, Do Make Say Think and Pelican. Melodic moments share hints of Latin Jazz while heavier moments showcase Tristeza’s instinctive build up and break down timing.
