Wooden Shjips keep their evenings quite busy. This week at The Independent they’ll play alongside Philadelphia ethereal folk band Espers, and Oakland’s Colossal Yes (Thursday, 8pm). Tickets are reasonably priced at $13 and are still available.

Wooden Shjips – “For So Long”
A live recording of Colossal Yes’ last Noise Pop Festival performance at the Swedish American Music Hall is available to hear on Wolfgang’s Vault. It features Julie Napolin on flute, Eli Eckert on guitar and CY leader Utrillo Kushner on piano and vocals.
