New East Bay music compilation release, show this Friday

February 3, 2010

It’s always a good time to feature music from the oft-neglected East side of the Bay. Davyd Nereo of Beatbeat Whisper and Winnie Byrd has completed a new recording project: a local compilation, full of exclusive tracks from Oakland-based bands.

The compilation consists of 15 bands and solo artists from Oakland, including Ash Reiter, The Blank Tapes, Belly of the Whale, Jen Weisberg, Mark Deutsch, Quinn Deveaux, Roberto Miguel, Ayla Nereo and more.

Those interested in picking up a copy of this new disc can do so at the Starry Plough this Friday, February 5th, where a celebration of sorts will be taking place. The show costs $8, and will feature performances by Ash Reiter, Quinn Deveaux and Blue Beat Review and Winnie Byrd.
