The Splinters – “Mysterious” (from Kick)
Berkeley/Oakland band The Splinters release their debut full-length, Kick, on March 9th, 2010 on Oakland’s Double Negative Records. The quartet formed in 2008, and have a couple of releases (CD-r, 7″) under their belts, but Kick, with its blend of garage rock enthusiasm and girl-group/indie pop catchiness, has them poised to make a bigger splash nationally. To that end, they’re heading down to SXSW and doing a bunch of touring in the coming months.
The band’s record release show is at Amnesia on March 4th, with Hunx and His Punx and Magic Bullets, but you can first see The Splinters at the Rickshaw Stop on February 24th as part of Noise Pop.
