Highly Recommended: In A Cloud – New Sounds From San Francisco

On March 2nd, Secret Seven Records will release the vinyl-only compilation, In A Cloud: New Sounds From San Francisco, a simply amazing collection of 14 previously unreleased songs from some of the Bay Area’s best bands, including Thee Oh Sees, Sonny & The Sunsets, The Fresh & Onlys, Hannah & Raven (of Grass Widow), Jacques Butters, Ty Segall, The Sandwitches, Exray’s, Donovan Quinn & the 13th Month, Trainwreck Riders, Dylan Shearer, Paula Frazer, Tim Cohen, and Kelley Stoltz.
With the wealth of great SF bands around, snapshots of the scene like In A Cloud are both vital and unfortunately all too rare. But it would be wrong to label the record as just some “local music sampler.” Even if the regional significance doesn’t matter to you, the album is packed with gems, so much so that it’s been difficult to pick one track to post here.

There will be a record release show for “In A Cloud” at Amnesia in SF on March 2nd. Kelley Stoltz, Sonny & The Sunsets, Tim Cohen (front-man of The Fresh & Onlys) and Jon Bernson (of The Exray’s) will perform.
