Geographer – “Kites”
Oh, Geographer. Truly one of our favorite local bands, and a group who seem to win new fans with every live performance. The band’s new EP, Animal Shapes, is out now, and it really seems to pick up on the New Order vibe in their, well, New Order cover on their last 7″. The acoustic piece of the trio’s electroacoustic balance is there, but it really feels like the group has honed its use of synths as a foil to Mike Deni’s great voice.
The new EP is available from Tricycle Records or on iTunes. Geographer is playing tonight with LoveLikeFire and Altars at the Rickshaw Stop (8pm, $12).
This is a great song; looking forward to hearing more from them.
