This Thursday, an art and music reception to benefit breast cancer research will be held by the Kestral Sound Review, co-curated by Hippies are Dead‘s Patrick Proctor. Full information for the event can be found on their website — Kestral aims to be a ten-part show series with the following mission:

An appreciation of music and art is also a goal as we strive to showcase up and coming talents through a series of mini festivals we call Volumes. Each Volume goes to benefit a selected charity and is curated by local music writers, record companies, and/or record stores. Curators select one of their favorite musical acts to perform at the benefit show as well as their successor for the next Volume. Volumes also comprise of local artists, performers, and DJs, selected by Kestral Crew and Members. We will soon make membership options available to those who wish to join. Stay tuned!
