Current gloom notwithstanding, summer is the perfect time for warm electronic sounds. SF’s Blackbird Blackbird (aka Mikey S; formerly Bye Bye Blackbird) has been releasing new tracks and garnering blog buzz at equally feverish paces over the past few months.
The songs above are from Blackbird Blackbird’s Tumblr, but you should also download a couple of recent EPs below, available for free on BB’s Bandcamp page. Double Denim Records has announced that it’ll be releasing a Blackbird Blackbird/Paopao split 7″ in July.
Blackbird Blackbird supports Secret Cities (North Dakota) at the Elbo Room on July 6th (9pm, $6). Lucky Cloud opens.
