Holiday records from Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo serve up warped takes on “Auld Lang Syne†and “Silver Bells”
December 13, 2010

Out December 14th are new records from Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo, featuring both bands’ fuzzed-out takes on holiday traditionals. Wooden Shjips’ versions of “O Tannenbaum” and “Auld Lang Syne†originally emerged on a small-release cassette in 2008. Here, they’re on a green or red 12″ limited to 500 copies of each color. Meanwhile, Moon Duo take on “Silver Bells” on the A-side, and “Winter,” a song originally from The Rolling Stones’ Goats Head Soup, on the flip.
