It’s important to be able to admit when you’re wrong, I think, so I’ll own up to some initial head-scratching about next week’s Noise Pop show billed as “A Night with Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson.” Aesop and Kimya, both are great, but what do they have in common? Well, as it turns out, a lot.
As the K Records Tumblr pointed out last week, Kimya Dawson’s got a solo album called Thunder Thighs out later this year, and the first leaked track, “Miami Advice,” featuring Aesop Rock and the Olympia Free Choir, doesn’t just sound good. It actually sounds pretty awesome. What’s more, Some Kind of Awesome says that not only does Aesop Rock appear on six songs on Thunder Thighs, but Rock and Dawson also have a collaborative album in the works as well.

“A Night with Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson” takes place at the Great American Music Hall on February 25th (8pm, $20), and we’re giving away two tickets to the show! E-mail contest[at]thebaybridged.com with “Aesop and Kimya” in the subject line. Winner will be chosen at random later this week.
