Thursday Night: KUSF Benefit at Milk; KUSF in Exile streaming online

March 29, 2011

The SHE’S – “Surfer Boys”

If you are a little cynical, you might have expected the Save KUSF movement to start out with a lot of outrage that would gradually dissipate as people moved on and got distracted by other things. Admirably, that hasn’t been the case, and KUSF DJs and supporters have continued the fight in the courts and in the public arena.

You can find out more about the legal battle in this detailed article at Radio Survivor. On the public front, DJ AmperDan is throwing a KUSF fundraiser show this Thursday at Milk (8pm, $10), featuring The SHE’S, Sentinel, and Rad Cloud, as well as the KUSF in Exile DJs between sets.

Speaking of KUSF in Exile, even though 90.3fm has been snatched away, KUSF’s illustrious DJs are continuing to spin in a couple of different places. KUSF in Exile is a stream supported by WFMU (with podcasts hosted here). Additionally, DJs Germ and AmperDan are doing shows over at Radio Valencia, which reminds me that Germ emailed us a while back asking local bands to send mp3s to him for broadcast on his show. Local musicians can send those tracks to germtunes[at]gmail.com.

Oh yeah, and 9-year KUSF DJ Dennis The Menace (that’s me!) is also on RADIO VALENCIA with three shows in exactly the same time slots they were on KUSF. He is also on IndieSF, a killer internet radio station out of Santa Fe New Mexico. Check their website at http://www.indiesf.com for times!
