SF Popfest Announces 2011 Lineup: Undertones, Allo Darlin’, Slumberland Showcase, and more
April 4, 2011

San Francisco Popfest returns Memorial Day weekend with what I’d call the annual fest’s best lineup yet. Highlights include the legendary The Undertones (whose anthem “Teenage Kicks” was John Peel’s favorite song), Allo Darlin’ (the London band that released last year’s best indie pop record), and a Slumberland Records showcase headlined by the SF debut of acclaimed ’80s/’90s British band 14 Iced Bears.
On the local front, plenty of great acts are joining in on the festivities: Blackbird Blackbird, Dominant Legs, The Mantles, The Art Museums, Brilliant Colors and Terry Malts, to name more than a few. Sample over a dozen of the bands playing Popfest with the below mix compiled by the organizers.

You have Saturday listed as May 29th, it’s the 30th.
I had no idea pop festivals occur in May
How do I get my band to participate in it next time
or any benefit concerts to help raise funds ?
My band, Blu Station, plays original hooked tunes
linked to current events. Everything from revolution,
unemployment, rising gas prices, floods, and more.
We will play the San Mateo Event Center on June 17,
the annual County Fair concert
Actually, Saturday is the 28th and Sunday is the 29th. I’ve updated the schedule! Check out our latest Popfest preview for more information on the shows. Thanks!
