Weekend – Hazel by Slumberland Records
Having patiently waited to hear that first taste of the young Bay Area shoegaze/post-rock band Weekend after their debut LP, Sports, we are given “Hazel.” It’s the first single off the forthcoming Red EP, out on Slumberland September 20 (but Insound is already offering pre-orders). The jubilant, New Wave-y grand opening of “Hazel” comes as a bit of a surprise, but soon enough the splashes of noisy feedback kick in, and you’re well reminded of who you’re listening to.
We’re stoked to see Weekend next at the Treasure Island Music Festival on October 16.
