Wet Illustrated – “Gypsy Town”

Here’s another winning weird-pop gem from SF’s Wet Illustrated. The band’s first LP, 1x1x1, comes out on Tuesday, October 25th on True Panther. In November, Wet Illustrated will be playing a bunch of West Coast dates with Devon Williams, including a show at Amnesia on November 17th. That SF date also includes Magic Trick, making it one hell of a bill top to bottom.

Or, the Whale emerges from hiatus for rare, possibly last show tonight

Or, the Whale

Or, the Whale – “Rusty Gold”

Or, the Whale is returning from a hiatus to perform a rare show tonight at The Independent, and a recent post from the band’s blog suggests that there’s some possibility this might be it for SF’s alt-country darlings:

So, here’s the deal: after a few months of “hiatus” we are playing a show at the Independent in SF. We are splitting the bill with Victoria George and there will be some collaborations in each set. Information can be found here.

In other news, after this show, the future of the band is completely up in the air. Chances are we will continue to be on hiatus – there is a small chance that we will completely cease operation. This is not a unanimous decision, so perhaps there will be a future for OTW – but in the meantime come see what is definitively our last show for a while.

Show is at 8pm, $15. We’ll keep you posted on the band’s future when we know more.
