Video: Jonas Reinhardt – “Only Pharoah”

November 17, 2011

Isabel Salvado‘s video for “Only Pharoah” by Jonas Reinhardt visualizes the entrancing song’s bubbling analog mysticism. The track is the B-side to the recent The Prime Revealer 12″, out now on Great Pop Supplement. Vinyl geeks take note:

cut and mastered at Abbey Road, this one looks just beautiful too. side A of this 12 is cut as a 7″ played at 45 and Side B cut as a 10″ at 33. 11+ mins of music overall. both sides featuring on disc etching from GPS head, Dom, also at Abbey Road.

Download “Only Pharoah” and see a picture of the hand-etched vinyl after the jump.

Tycho – “Dive” (Radio Edit)

Tycho – “Hours”

Over the past few months, I’ve found myself missing Boards of Canada quite a bit, and Dive, the new album from Tycho, scratches that itch quite nicely, fusing warm synth melodies with propulsive drum beats. Tycho is the musical nom de plume of San Francisco artist Scott Hansen, and he’ll be performing a hometown show at The Independent on December 10th. You can stream the album in its entirety over at Spin.

Video: Key Losers – “Limited Time”

November 17, 2011

The video for Key Losers‘ “Limited Time” is the story of people driving around, running a bunch of errands, but when you pair that with former SF-er Katy Davidson singing “There is a limited time,” the image takes on an extra melancholy. It also makes one thankful not to spend much time in a car or at a strip mall. California Lite will likely wind up one of the year’s hidden gems, and fans of that Elverum hi-lo-fi sound should seek it out.

Key Losers perform at the Hemlock Tavern on Sunday, November 20th (9pm, $7).
