Buzzworthy New York post-punk quartet The Men are making their way to San Francisco this summer for a June 24th performance at Bottom of the Hill, with support from Bay Area locals Wax Idols and Burt Ones.
Currently signed to Sacred Bones Records, The Men released their third full-length, Open Your Heart, to critical acclaim earlier this year. On this release, the band took a step forward from last year’s Leave Home, with more emphasis on melodic accessibility in their bold, heavy songwriting. Listen to their new single “A Minor” below, featured on the label compilation Sacred Bones Presents: Todo Muere, Vol. 2.
Oakland’s female-fronted pop-punk garage mainstays Wax Idols will be supporting The Men for this SF show. The 7″ for their new single “Schadenfreude” is sold out on Suicide Squeeze, but check the merch booth if you’re feeling lucky. You can also stream the track here.
Burnt Ones will be opening the night with their fuzzy brand of San Francisco garage rock. Their new 7″ single for “Meet the Golden One” is currently available from Burger Records.
Tickets for the show are $12 at the door. Bring earplugs, it might get loud.
