Free Sonny & The Sunsets show at Amoeba San Francisco, Friday 6/29/12

Lots of action going on in the world of Sonny & The Sunsets these days. Their new album Longtime Companion – a true country, heartbreak-influenced collection of songs – drops on Tuesday, and an extensive tour beginning in mid-July will follow (including a July 21st stop at The Independent). You can listen to new track “Pretend You Love Me” below, and stream the full album here.

Kicking everything off, however, will be a free appearance by the band this Friday at Amoeba SF. A great opportunity to see many Companion tracks performed before they’re truly road-tested, the event also provides us the chance to continue to support one of the Bay’s classic music showcases and landmark businesses. Living here, it becomes easy to take these in-stores for granted; as the Amoeba family consistently features world-class talent in the ultimate setting of intimacy free of charge. A perfect mix in our minds, as Companion is unquestionably The Sunsets’ most intimate release to date.
