Fresh off another crowd-pleasing performance at this year’s Outside Lands, Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog yesterday announced their next visit to San Francisco – a free show on August 25th at Marina Green, as part of the 2012 America’s Cup World Series racing season. Consider this the first official “musical heads up” that the international sailing competition is quickly approaching our shores.
The 2012-13 World Series season is broken down into four separate weeks of practice racing and official competition. San Francisco hosts the first two blocks, August 21st-26th and October 2nd-7th, with Marina Green turning into the official America’s Cup Village. It’s free to watch any of the racing anytime, but there will also be two premium seating areas for which you can buy tickets. Complete information on the Village, tickets, and SF-specific events can be found here.
Dr. Dog released their most recent studio album, Be The Void, in February, and are currently taking a rare break from the road until later this month. For full tour dates and album info head on over to their website.
