Brand New Trash, the nacent “trash pop” project from Buxter Hoot’n founders and brothers Vince and Jimmy Dewald, is primed to release its debut full-length on November 15th. The band has slowly shared tracks off that record via Bandcamp, most recently rocking a cover of “Brenda’s Got a Baby”, the late, great Tupac Shakur’s debut single from 1991. You can hear the Dewald brothers’ dirty roots rock interpretation of the slain rapper’s meditation on teen pregnancy below, replete with Tom Petty-inspired harmonica and plenty of distorted guitars to go around.
In addition to “Brenda’s Got a Baby”, Brand New Trash previously shared three other tracks off their debut, which was recorded and produced by Charles James Gonzalez at Radical House Recording Studio. All four tracks can be streamed and/or downloaded via the Indiana natives’ Bandcamp page.
Vince and Jimmy, along with bandmates Kevin Alan Walters and Ebony Towner, will celebrate the release of their new LP with a show on November 15th at Bottom of the Hill with The Blank Tapes and Coo Coo Birds (producer Gonzalez plays bass in the latter).
