Unknown Mortal Orchestra announce new album and tour (playing SF on 2/13/13)

Half from New Zealand and half from America, Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s self-titled debut album of lo-fi surf rock was a hit with its fun and fuzzy sound. The Portland-based group have announced the details for the upcoming release of their second album, aptly-titled II. The anticipated new album will be released on Jagjaguwar on February 5th.
The band is known to shy away from press, perhaps living up to the “unknown” aspect of their moniker, but they have released a new single as well as a audio from their live set at Pygmalion Music Festival in September 2012.
