San Francisco’s psychedelic dream pop duo Painted Palms is set to release a new 7” record Carousel via Polyvinyl on March 5th, 2013. This is the band’s first release since their debut EP Canopy came out in the summer of 2011, complete with endorsement from Kevin Barnes of Of Montreal (who nabbed the band to support their nationwide tour), which gained the band a decent amount of exposure.
The A-side track on the Carousel 7” is a departure from the highly psychedelic Canopy (with it’s likeness to albums like Merriweather Post Pavilion and An Album by Korallreven) and a step towards the more minimalistic side of dream pop, echoing tones of indie rock bands like Grizzly Bear or Local Natives.
