San Jose punk rocker-turned-rapper Antwon is blowing up this summer with two California festival dates and a debut vinyl release. His “Dying in the Pussy” b/w “Life Is What You Make It” 7-inch single is out now on Suicide Squeeze Records. The two-song EP is available worldwide both digitally and as a limited edition vinyl release with 250 copies on white and black marble vinyl and 500 copies on solid black. My marble copy just came in the mail a few days ago and fits in beautifully with my “#gothsummer” rotation. You know this shit will eventually sell out. Get on it. Unfortunately the new tracks aren’t up for streaming, but here’s a recent remix of “Dark Denim”.
Although ‘Twon is at the bottom of this year’s festival bills, he’s definitely on his way to the top (cue that played-out Drake song). He will make his FYF Fest debut in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 25. San Francisco’s Deafheaven, whose frontman Kerry McCoy recently collaborated with Antwon for a Converse video session, will be performing at the FYF Pre-Party at The Echo on Friday, August 23 with an unannounced “Special Guest” (not saying it’s gonna be Antwon, but a man can have his dreams).
Antwon will also perform at this year’s Treasure Island Music Festival in October, so be sure to get there early to catch his set.
