About Us

Founded in January 2006, TheBayBridged.com has become recognized as the leading source for the best in San Francisco Bay Area independent rock, folk and pop music. The site has showcased hundreds of undiscovered and up-and-coming bands through an acclaimed weekly podcast, daily blog, New, Improved, LIVE studio sessions, and videos, photos, and reviews from a large staff of talented contributors.

TheBayBridged.com is the online publication of The Bay Bridged, a fiscally sponsored nonprofit arts organization committed to two principal purposes: 1) educating the public about the San Francisco Bay Area independent music community and encouraging public support of local independent music; and 2) providing Bay Area musicians with unique opportunities to receive public exposure and create original musical works.

The Bay Bridged also curates and promotes “The Bay Bridged Presents,” a monthly series of concerts featuring the best bands in the Bay Area. The organization also produces Regional Bias, an annual fundraiser event, and co-produces the annual Bay Area Takeover party at South by Southwest in March and Rock Make Street Festival in San Francisco’s Mission District every August. The organization has also collaborated on projects with the Noise Pop, Mission Creek and Treasure Island Music Festivals.

The Bay Bridged recently launched another pioneering project, a recording grant for local bands created in partnership with Tiny Telephone Recording. Additionally, The Bay Bridged has curated two compilations of local music, The Bay Bridged, Volumes 1 and 2, respectively, and is currently planning for a third volume.

You can contact The Bay Bridged using the links at the right. Site advertising rates are very affordable for businesses (local and otherwise) seeking to reach a large audience of discerning music fans enthusiastic about the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.
