Video Podcast Episode 10: Emily Jane White – “Hole in the Middle”
October 29, 2008
Our latest video podcast is the second of two episodes featuring Emily Jane White from an exclusive Heron’s Head Park performance earlier this year. In this video, White and her band perform “Hole in the Middle” from her debut album Dark Undercoat, which you should purchase on iTunes. The song seems particularly appropriate before the upcoming election, as it showcases White’s ability to filter political concerns through her unique personal songwriting perspective.

September 30, 2008

Here is the second of two video podcast episodes featuring San Francisco’s The Botticellis, from a performance recorded in our former headquarters earlier this year. The band’s full length debut Old Home Movies is a meticulously crafted affair, with well-placed layers of analog sound creating some amazing dynamic swells. As these episodes reveal, however, there’s some great songwriting at the core of it all. In this episode, the band plays one of our favorite songs from their debut, “Up Against The Glass.”

Video Podcast Episode 7: The Botticellis – “Stay With My Brother”
September 18, 2008

The Botticellis were supposed to follow Low Red Land on the roof of our apartment/studio at our first video shoot earlier this year, but our neighbors and local law enforcement had other ideas. Thankfully the band was cool with playing a super stripped-down set inside the apartment, and while we lost the views, we still got a great performance of the group’s melodic, introspective surf-pop. This episode features The Botticellis performing “Stay With My Brother” from their debut album Old Home Movies, which you should purchase on iTunes or from Antenna Farm Records.

We are pleased to announce our latest episode in The Bay Bridged Video Podcast series. This episode features Birdmonster, from an exclusive performance we filmed a few months ago at Heron’s Head Park in Hunter’s Point. “Born To Be Your Man” is the first single off of From The Mountain To The Sea, and this stripped-down take is a great introduction to the band’s evolving sound and a terrific performance in its own right.

Video Podcast Episode 4: The Dodos – “Men”
August 6, 2008
Here’s the latest episode in our video podcast series. This is the second of two videos spotlighting The Dodos, from their sold-out homecoming show at The Independent in June. While the recent Visiter has been drawing well-deserved acclaim, the band’s performance of “Men,” from their first full length Beware of the Maniacs, demonstrates that their talents have been percolating in the underground for quite a while. This track is also the first track off of The Bay Bridged’s first compilation which can be picked up on iTunes.

Video Podcast Episode 3: The Dodos – “Paint the Rust”
July 25, 2008
We’re back with the next episode in our ongoing video podcast series. This is the first of two programs spotlighting The Dodos, from their sold-out homecoming show at The Independent in June. The Dodos played with a ferocious intensity that night–going for about an hour and a half with few breaks between songs–and they showcased the performance skills that deservedly made them one of the year’s most buzzed-about bands. In the end, it was enough to leave even an audience member feeling thoroughly satiated, if a little winded.
