San Francisco solo garage rock machine Adam Widener will join fellow San Franciscans Primitive Hearts opening for Canadian punks The Steve Adamyk Band and Needles//Pins Tuesday night at Thee Parkside. Widener, who plays bass at his live shows, has performed with Warm Soda as his backing band for solo shows in the past. For Tuesday’s show, the well-connected Widener enlisted the help of drummer Phil Lantz and singer/guitarist Patrick Clos from Cocktails, and will use DSTVV‘s Joel Cusumano as his lead guitarist.

Bay Area classic-soul duo Myron & E recently released a track from their forthcoming album Broadway, set for a July 2 release on Stones Throw Records. The pair met several years ago when both were on tour with Blackalicious. While touring in Finland, they met the Helsinki group The Soul Investigators, who are best known for their work with Nicole Willis, and a jam session led to a couple of single releases on the Investigators’ Timmion Records, and ultimately a deal with Stones Throw. Listen to “If I Gave You My Love” below, and catch them at the Starry Plough May 18 with The Bang, who we told you about last year.
