Sparrows Gate, Little Wings, Magic Leaves, and Moonbow play at the Presidio Yacht Club tonight, 3/2/12
March 2, 2012
You know what’s all the rage right now? Band names inspired by nature. You’ll nary see a lineup quite as bucolic as tonight’s at the Presidio Yacht Club in Sausalito, wherein a flock of small-winged sparrows will magically fly through a gate and then above leaf-heavy trees, towards that rare occurrence of a moonbow.
Tickets are $5 for members and $7 for the general public. John Muir would approve.

On Tuesday, February 7th, Brick & Mortar Music Hall presents the first installment of their Wood Shoppe series – a free, multi-band showcase that will occur on the first Tuesday of every month going forward.
Wet Illustrated, Magic Leaves, Seattle’s Noah Gundersen, and a Painted Palms DJ set round out the inaugural line up (8:30pm, free, 18+). According to Wet Illustrated’s Facebook page, at midnight the band will engage in a live, interactive game of Words With Friends. We recommend hoarding vowels and getting those triple word scores ready now.

It can be extremely difficult to keep track of all of the new music that’s constantly floating around the Internet. Here’s our latest month-in-review mix collecting some our favorite new (or new to us) songs recently posted on the website. Gathered in the mix are a dozen new tracks that were posted on TheBayBridged.com in December, with links below to download each of them individually.

Magic Leaves just released an excellent slab of psych-rock called GLOW in August, but the band is back again with another full length they’re releasing on New Year’s Eve. You can grab the first two songs from Spiritual Pornography for free on Bandcamp and stream the whole thing above.
Magic Leaves is also performing on NYE at Amnesia with Little Wings, The Range of Light Wilderness, and Au Dunes. If you haven’t yet heard GLOW, take a listen to that album below.

Think of our latest mixtape as something of an hour-long indie music/beer pairing, inspired by our upcoming The Bay Brewed rock and roll beer festival. On Saturday, December 3rd, we’ll be at The Verdi Club, for performances by Weekend, Sleepy Sun, Extra Classic, and Terry Malts, and unlimited local craft beer samplings from 21st Amendment, Anchor Steam, Beach Chalet, Drake’s Brewing, Lagunitas, Magnolia, Marin Brewing Company, Social Kitchen & Brewery, and Speakeasy. In this mixtape, we’ve collected music from 21 local indie rock, garage, lo-fi and psych bands whose rocking tunes serve as great beer-drinking music. Seriously, give this mix a try with a pint and we think you’ll agree.

If you’re anything like me, you know how difficult it can be to keep track of all of the new music that’s constantly floating around the Internet. Here’s our latest month-in-review mix collecting some our favorite new (or new to us) songs recently posted on the website. Gathered in the mix are fourteen new tracks from Bay Area bands that were posted on TheBayBridged.com in October, with links below to download each of them individually.

This free download from Magic Leaves is a driving, upbeat piece of psych-rock, serving as a great preview of the band’s “in the works” new album.

If you dig fiery psych rock, let me recommend GLOW, the brand new album from Northern California band Magic Leaves. The band is led be Texas-native Joshua Bruner, and performed a Chasing the Moon session last year:
